Good for
- Turn a technical book PDF into a skill you can query while you work
- Fold an internal docs folder, such as ADRs or runbooks, into one skill
- Merge a stack of papers and your notes into a single skill and update it as new material lands
- Generate chapter files, a glossary, a patterns file and a cheatsheet
Getting started
- Install with npx skills add virgiliojr94/book-to-skill
- Run /book-to-skill ./my-book.pdf; a folder, glob or list of files also works
- Ask with the book's slug and a topic, e.g. /my-book replication, and the agent reads the right chapter to answer
Before you install
Generated skills go into the user-level ~/.agents/skills/ directory; under Claude Code it also tries to create a verified symlink in ~/.claude/skills/.
